Weale's Map of London and its Vicinity 1851. Published by Weale, London 1851. On folding paper size 94 by 52 cm. Scale approximately 4 inches to the mile. A detailed map which includes all streets and features from Primrose Hill across to Stratford in the north and from Battersea Bridge across to Greenwich Park in the south. Uncoloured. Published to accompany Weale’s book London and its Vicinity: London Exhibited in 1851, the map clearly shows the site of the Great Exhibition in Hyde Park. Battersea Park is shown in its planned but not completed form. Folds have been strengthened to the reverse in several places with clear acid free tape. Some creasing to one section. Overall in good condition with these qualifications.
