Collated complete and correct running frontis, title page in red and black, epistle dedication, dedication to the reader (verso imprimatur), introductory discourse, then the main text, which has a separate title page dated also 1676. Contemporary calf, somewhat rubbed, a little shaken perhaps, occasional very light mark, overall text very clean and all pages intact. An excellent and universal scholar, an elegant writer, and a very eloquent preacher (Darling). An attractive example of the first edition of this celebrated work, with a good clear impression of the famous history of the Church folding plate. ESTC R12963
