Book Description

Into Battle, Winston S. Churchill, Cassell, 1941, First Edition First Impression The first, rarest and most valuable / sought after in Churchill's seven "war speeches" volumes. As such first impression copies in decent dustjackets are very rarely seen. This is a true first impression with the September 3rd speech left out and no pagination on page 78. The binding is sound, the boards are clean, relatively unmarked with the gilt writing to the spine still prominent. The endpapers and pages are without marks, tears or inscriptions with some foxing to the early pages extending to the page edges. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a removable transparent cover has retained its colour well with some loss to top and bottom of the spine and at the rear crease. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
