Harold Nicolson Diaries and Letters 1930 - 1962 (3 Vols), edited by Nigel Nicolson, Collins, First Edition, First Impressions Harold Nicolson was one of the three great political diarists of the 20th century who whilst never achieving high office recorded daily what was going on at Westminster. He was married to Vita Sackville-West, socialised widely and together with his wife created the garden at Sissinghurst. His diaries and letters make the books a highly entertaining record of his life and times as well as being of great historical value. Each book is a First Edition, First Impression with a dust jacket protected in a clear, removable cover and are illustrated throughout. Volume I - Diaries and Letters 1930 - 39, Collins 1966 There is a neat personal dedication and date to the front end paper. The book is in near fine condition. The binding is straight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. There is minimal shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine. The end papers and pages are free from marks and tears. The top edge retains some of its original black tint. The unclipped dust jacket is in near fine condition with minimal loss to the corners of the front cover, and very slight nibbling to the top and bottom edges of the front cover. Volume II - Diaries and Letters 1939 - 45, Collins 1967 The book is in fine condition, The binding is straight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears and inscriptions. The top edge retains its original black tint. The clipped dust jacket is in very good condition with a scrape to the front cover, minimal losses to the bottom corner of the front cover and to the bottom edge of the spine. Volume III - Diaries and Letters 1945 - 62, Collins 1968 There is a neat owners name to the front end paper. The book is in near fine condition. The binding is straight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. There is minimal shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine. The end papers and pages are free from marks and tears. The top edge retains its original black tint. The unclipped dust jacket is in very good condition with loss to the bottom edge of the spine and a small nick to the top edge of the front cover. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box,
