George Warrington Steevens (1869-1900), British journalist and writer, war correspondent for the Daily Mail during the Anglo-Boer War in 1899 and most famous war correspondent of his time. (New International Cyclopedia). His most striking work was Monologues of the Dead. (J.W. Cousin, A Short Biographical Dictionary of English Literature).
