Book Description

Published by: W. Mietke and printed by A Ginsa in Warsaw in 1899. iv-x; 450 pp., then tables with no page marks. The Psalm Book consists of 418 songs which were selected from the collection of 5000 songs to correspond to the spirit of the times, and to the faith of the church members. The members of the committee appointed by the synod to compile the hymnal were: E.H. Schultz, E. Holtz, R. Grundlach, J. Bursche. The hymnal is in very good condition. Edges delicately bent, small, minor abrasions of leather binding. Inside there is a significant number of foxes, however with no impact on readiness. In Preface, there is a small place with evidently scratched fragment, but knowing the context and having the profesional knowledge it can be easily restored. Two ways of stating the date is due to Julian calendar that was observed in the Tsardom of Russia.
