Bohn, Covent Garden, London 1842. This is a New And Improved Edition, Rebound in ¾ dark brown leather with 5 raised bands and title & authors name in gilt on black labels fastened to spine; covers are an orange buckram; no date noted of rebind. Top edge is gilt and other 2 edges are uncut. Folio - 10” x 13”, 158pps + 72pps of colour plates - all plates have been collated and are correct (please note that plate LVll is the frontispiece). There is some slight damage to 7 the pages of 7 plates - this is noted on a photo of a note at the front of the book. Covers of book are clean and tidy with just a few small marks on the front & back; there is some very occasional foxing. Book weighs 2.3kg. A copy of this book with all plates intact and in good condition is quite rare.
