THE VERY YOUNG CALENDAR. 1932. Verses by A. A. Milne. Decorations by E. H. Shepard. Lettered by A. E. Taylor.
Book Description
FIRST EDITION. (10 x 8 inches). 13 leaves, printed in colours on one side only, tied with blue tassled cord to the top. Main title page and 12 monthly leaves, all illustrated around verses from When we were very young and featuring illustrations of Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Christopher Robin, and many of the much loved characters from the book. A very good example with some very light spotting to the front panel and a little minor bumping to the corners. In the publishers original paper covered box with the calendar front panel reproduced on the top board. There is a small piece of the top box side panel missing (about 2.5 inches), and a handful of splits, without loss, to the sides and the corners but overall this is a rare survivor in such good condition. A highly desirable copy of a fragile and uncommon item.
