First Edition, First Impression. 13.5 x 20.4 cm blue boards with gilt stamped titles to the spine, 286(2)pp, with original unclipped dust jacket designed by Tudor Humphries with Carnegie Medal sticker on front panel and priced at £4.50. Signed, inscribed and dated on the title page by the author.
A fine, clean, bright book. The dust jacket, which is now protected in a removable clear jacket (not shown in our images), is also in excellent condition, noting only a hint of toning on the top edge of the jacket flaps and a hint of rubbing to the laminate on the top joint. A really lovely signed 1st edition copy of this highly regarded and multiple award winning book.
