Count Belisarius, Cassell and Company Limited, 1938, First Edition, First Impression This book recounts the life of the Roman general Belisarius as told by Eugenius, a eunuch, who was a servant of Belisarius' wife Antonia. There is a neat owners plate to the front end paper. The maps are still fully intact and attached. In very good condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean apart from a white mark to the front board and the lettering on the spine bright. There are white marks to the spine and slight shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine.The end papers and pages are free from tears. The top edge retains its original brown tint. There is foxing to the fore and bottom edges. Uncommon to see this book in such good condition. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
