An historical novel set in County Kerry. Lever was regarded as the equal of Dickens and Thackeray in his day. Finely bound in blue half leather with raised ribs to the spine and marbled boards with decorative tooling and titling to the spine and boards. The exquisite endpapers match the boards. The binding is tight and straight, the boards and endpapers almost flawless and totally remarkable for their age. The endpapers and pages are clean without any marks, tears or inscriptions. All 26 illustrations and frontispiece (protected by complete tissue guard) are present. Pages from the monthly parts have been bound into the rear of the volume together with publisher's adverts. Will be dispatched wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
