Dealer Notes
FIRST EDITION; a charming series of twelve etchings copied from original prints by Rembrandt from the Cracherode collection in the British Museum."The artist is W. J. Smith; and in these justly-termed facsimile etchings, he has rendered an essential service to the admirers of Rembrandt, by enabling them to possess, at light cost, all the varieties, from the lightest to the darkest, of that great master's needle." - Belle Asemblee review 1825. A very scarce collection with only the usual degree of foxing to be expected from prints of this period.
