Book Description

Birdsong, Sebastian Faulks, Hutchinson, 1993, Fine First Edition, First Impression Adapted for radio, stage and television and well as being the 13th favourite book in Britain in the BBC's 2003 survey "The Big Read", this is the author's fourth novel. The story follows two main characters living at different times: Stephen Wraysford, a British soldier on the front line in Amiens during the First World War and his granddaughter, Elizabeth Benson, whose 1970's plot line follows her attempts to recover an understanding of Stephen's experience of the war. There is a neat owners name to the front end paper. In fine condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. The end papers and pages are free from marks and tears. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in fine condition with no issues. This is a superb copy of this classic novel - no foxing, no lean and white pages with a fine dust jacket making it an impressive addition to a library or a wonderful gift. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
