Book Description
Brazilian Adventure, Peter Fleming, Jonathan Cape, 1933, Rare First Edition, First Impression
Still considered a classic in travel literature, this book tells of Fleming's search for the lost Colonel Percy Fawcett in the Brazilian jungle. Fawcett, along with his son and another companion disappeared in Brazil whilst searching for the Lost City of Z. With meagre supplies, faulty maps and packs of rival newspapermen on their trail, Fleming and his companions marched, canoed and hacked through 3,000 miles of wilderness and alligator-ridden rivers in search of the fate of the lost explorer.
The book is illustrated throughout with photos.
A First Edition, First Impression in very good condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine quite bright. The end papers and pages are free from tears. There is a neat owners name and date to the rear of the front board and a mark to the first free paper. The top edge retains its original brown tint.
Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and in a cardboard box.
